Dearest friends and family,
Max and I are very excited to provide an update and the official plan for our wedding on October 10th. As you know, we have spent a great deal of time considering our options. We strongly considered postponing the reception portion of the wedding and hosting a family only ceremony. We considered this option because of how important it is for us for our guests to have a good time, while also being and feeling safe.
We are happy to share with you that we have found a plan that includes all of our guests that we feel will be both safe and fun. Our venue (The Inn at Laurel Point) has a large, heated, outdoor tented area that we were originally using to host our ceremony. The rest of the wedding was originally set indoors, which concerned us.
Our plan now is to host as much of our wedding outside as possible. Both the ceremony and reception will be outside. We will move indoors for dinner. After dinner, the dance floor will be outside under the tents.
While indoors, we are required to follow the same guidelines in place at restaurants. Guests will be required to wear their masks when not seated at their assigned table. During the outdoor portions of the wedding, guests will have the option to return inside to their assigned table if they wish.
It is important to note that our guests will be required to show proof of vaccination in order to attend. According to our venue and the Provincial Health Order, Max and I are responsible for confirming everyone's vaccination status.
We ask you to please respond to this email confirming your vaccination status. We will also be required to confirm your status on arrival with your QR code or other methods valid in BC. Knowing that our guests are all vaccinated will help us to feel safe and enjoy the day. If this is a barrier for any of you, please let Max and I know so we can find another way to include you in our special day. More information on vaccine passports can be found here:

Max and I have reached out to some of you already to discuss your preferences in regards to your seating, but we would appreciate hearing from you if we have not had a chance to reach out yet. Most of you are seated with members of your family or friend group already but if you would prefer to be seated with a smaller group, we can arrange a spot for you that is farther back and less crowded.
We do understand that the weather is unpredictable in Victoria and we have the potential to experience some impressive elements (from under the heated tents). We hope you will come prepared to dance with us in the wind, the rain, or the moonlight. Regardless of weather, we look forward to it being one of the best of our lives. It was heartbreaking to imagine getting married without our friends and extended family. We are beyond thrilled to be able to share our special day with all of you in person.
Thank you for being the important people in our lives and for supporting us as we become husband and wife.
Sincerely,
Max and Kelly
